Prophet Arrested While Performing Rituals With Goat Inside Rented Apartment

The Police intelligence team from the Isheri Oshun Division of the Lagos State Command led by SP Oluwole Oyewole has uncovered and arrested Prophet Chijioke Umeadi, of Settlement and Deliverance Ministry, while performing some rituals with a goat in a shrine built inside his rented apartment. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports the incident happened at Araromi Street, Ijagemo area of Lagos.
The 36-year old Prophet, Umeadi, who lives in the apartment, was said to have brought the shrine from Nri town in Anambra State, and performs rituals for church members.
His arrest followed a report to the Police by his landlord,  Obiekwe Ndukwe, that Prophet Umeadi rented the apartment and turned it into a shrine in the guise of a church, where all manner of spiritual rituals are performed with goats.
Hence, the Police moved into action, went to the house and discovered that he was actually using one of the rooms as a shrine as blood of animals used to perform rituals as was alleged by his landlord was found.
He was taken to the Police Station and interrogated over the conduct as a Minister of God, which he claimed to be. It was during interrogation that Prophet Umeadi revealed that he was a traditional prophet and that he went to his hometown, Agu Nri and brought the shrine, which he was using to perform some spiritual works for his members who usually brought goats for the exercise.
However, after thorough interrogation, the Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ejigbo Magistrates Court for his conduct.
When he was arraigned, he pleaded not guilty before the Court.
The prosecutor, Inspector Simeon Njue, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.K. Dosumu granted him bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment.
He was however, remanded in custody at Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions while the matter was adjourned till 19th December, 2022, for mention.
