Delta 2022 Football: Team Lagos Take Pound Of Flesh From Edo Ladies, Ride To Final in 2-1 Victory

Female football team of Lagos State early on Monday revenged what Team Edo did for them during the last National Sports Festival, as they spanked the Edo Ladies 2-1 in the semi final cracker decided at the Ugwuashi-Uku Stadium in Asaba on Monday.

Team Edo won a controversial final match to clinch the gold medal of female football event of the Edo 2020 National Sports Festival, a result which was disputed by the Lagos team who settled for the silver medal of the event.

However, the semi final match at the Delta 2022, a neutral ground, gave the Lagos female footballers a good opportunity to decide who are the real champions as right winger Zainab Raji and Ijamilisu Folashade’s two goals gave the Lagos team much needed win to the final scheduled for Tuesday.

P.M. EXPRESS reports that Team Lagos female team were unbeaten going into the final to win the football gold medal of the sports festival.
