The Supervisor of Aso Rock Hotel and Suites, Matthew Anthony and security guard, Bello Babangida, have landed in trouble after robbers burgled the parking store and carted away property worth N7m during operations in Lagos State.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the duo, Anthony and Babangida, have been arrested by Police operatives from the Ikotun Division for conspiracy and incompetency by not protecting the hotel’s property worth the said amount.
The incident happened at Abaranje area of Ikotun, Lagos, where the hotel is located.
Some of the items allegedly carted away included 150 pieces of Alexra tables, chairs and crates of drinks worth the amount.
The hotel management found them culpable for not protecting the stolen property and handed them over to the Police for prosecution over their conduct.
During interrogation, they denied knowing anything about the stolen items but admitted that they told the management that they were competent and had capacity before they were employed.
Hence, the Police found them culpable as well and subsequently charged them before the Ejigbo Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.
They pleaded not guilty when they were arraigned.
The prosecutor, Inspector Simeon Njue, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.K. Dosumu, granted them bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood.
They were remanded in custody at the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions while the matter was adjourned till 12th January, 2023, for mention.
