Hon Odunmbaku Says A New Dawn Has Begun As Ojodu Holds Maiden Carnival

The Executive Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, Lagos State, Hon Segun Odunmbaku, said a new dawn has begun as history was made at Ojodu in conjunction with Yankee Entertainment as the Maiden Edition of Ojodu Carnival was held in grand style.

The venue of the carnival, Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ) ground, witnessed a fiesta of sociocultural and entertainment activities that stamped Ojodu LCDA as the melting point and center of creativity and diversity as Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage was displayed with masquerades and traditional dancers showcasing their creative talents just like musicians both upcoming and established ones entertained attendees.

Hon Segun Odunmbaku promised that as enshrined in the H.E.Y.S Agenda of his administration, where S stands Social and Infrastructural Development, the carnival will continue to be a yearly event in order to develop local tourism through the packaging and showcasing of the diverse culture like the masquerades and traditional dancers, creative budding talents like musicians and tourism sites within Ojodu LCDA.

“This Carnival has come at a perfect time when our society needs unity, harmony, and oneness. It is also an important step towards preserving and protecting our culture from extinction. In this vein, our administration in conjunction with other relevant agencies and partners shall ensure the continuity of this event and make it a tourist attraction in the League of Calabar Carnival” the Ojodu Mayor said.

As a way of enlivening the occasion, the attendees witnessed intriguing performances by various cultural groups, masquerade parades, students carol, as well as musical concert by renowned artistes such as Obesere, 9ice, Bash etc.

 

In the usual habit of Odunmbaku, various talented youths of Ojodu LCDA were given career boost through the Talent Hunt initiative as mouth-watering prizes were given out to eventual winners.

While responding to the press when he was interviewed, the Ojodu Mayor expressed his confidence in the electoral umpire, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as regards the 2023  general elections and enumerated reasons Nigerians should vote for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other APC candidates in the general elections.

In attendance at the epoch-making event were dignitaries from all walks of life, including traditional rulers, party faithful, artisans, Executive Committee members, Legislators, Management team, sponsors/partners and well wishers.
