Man, 51, Docked Over S*x With Neighbour’s 8-Year Old Daughter

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Gbadamosi, who resides at No. 51 Amoke Soderu Street, Aruna area of Ikorodu, Lagos, allegedly committed the act at the premises where he works.

After his arrest, he was charged before the Ikorodu Magistrates Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment or life imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty.

The Prosecuting Counsel, Mrs. Olawunmi Osibanjo, said the defendant committed the offence on 15th December, 2022 and the matter was reported at the Police station before he was arrested.

She said that the offence contravened Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. T. A. Shotobi, did not take his plea following a motion moved by the prosecutor asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.

Thus, the Court ordered his remand in the Correctional Centre pending the outcome of the DPP’s legal advice.

The Court also directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice while the matter was adjourned till 9th February, 2023, for report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
