The Chairperson of Ikeja Local Government, Mrs. Fausat Temitope Dauda, has led a delegation of women leaders, market women, community representatives, councillors’ wives and female council officials to the 26th COWLSO National Women’s Conference held in Lagos from October 26 to 28, 2026.

The conference, themed “Anchored in Purpose: Be the Blueprint,” brought together women from different backgrounds to discuss leadership, mentorship, empowerment and women’s contributions to community development.

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and the First Lady, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, encouraged women to become role models, mentor younger generations and use their positions to create opportunities for others.

The Coordinating Head of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Mrs. Tolulope Akingbesote, appreciated the Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), for supporting the delegation and consistently encouraging women’s participation in leadership and governance.
The participation provided an opportunity for the women to acquire new knowledge, build networks and strengthen their commitment to purposeful leadership and community development.
