Our Government Will Stop Perennial Flooding In ONELGA – Tonye Cole

Posted on January 24, 2023

The Rivers APC governorship candidate in the 2023 general election, Pastor Tonye Cole mni has assured the people of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government area that his government will put an end to the perennial problem of flooding in the area when elected.

Pastor Tonye Cole gave this assurance,  while addressing supporters during the Rivers State APC Governorship campaign flag-off rally in the the local government area.

He decried the loss of innocent lives, high level of suffering, neglect and underdevelopment in the area; despite contributing enormous human and mineral resources to the development of Nigeria.

“My government will be for me and for you. It’s the People’s government, and one thing we must Stop in this local government area is flooding. Every year, ONELGA suffers perennial flooding. We have a solution to it, we know what to do, we have engineers, we have architects, together we will stop flooding in ONELGA. Enough is enough”.

“In 2015, ONELGA suffered great bloodshed. Our people died in this land, our people suffered in this land because they believed in our collective future”

“Human resources, material and natural resources, ONELGA has been giving and giving and giving. Time has come for Onelga to connect to a better life in return. You have given your mineral resources yet nothing have you gotten in return”.

Pastor Cole wondered why ONELGA, which  shares boundaries with neighboring states will not have roads connecting those areas. This can open up economic opportunities for the people and bring development to other parts of the country.

He appealed to the people of the local government area to vote for the APC in order to guarantee jobs for the youths, empowerment for women, and education for their children.

“APC is government for this land, and we will do roads and everything you need will be done. All your suffering, your abandonment must end. Our government can connect roads from Onelga to link Imo, delta and other parts of Nigeria to enhance the development of this area”.

“Onelga people, I beg you, it’s in your hands to stop the suffering, remember those who have died, remember those who are jobless, remember our women without empowerment, remember our children without education. Enough of your punishment, this our government will give jobs to the youths, we have promised; we will fulfill it”.

“God has blessed me, I know how to set up businesses, and my responsibility is to teach you, help you set up your own businesses, I will do it”.

“I know all of you have your PVCs but only your PVC can not do it. “Please go out there, tell your brother, your sister, your friends, everybody, let them vote for APC. We will not discriminate in our government, as long as you are from Rivers State, you will benefit from our government, so please vote for us”.

Architect Tonye Cole lamented the neglect and disrespect of civil servants, pensioners and retirees in the state, assuring his government will place premium on welfare of public sector workers and retired senior citizens of the state.

“To our civil servants and retirees, our government will respect you, we will pay all your gratuities and your pensions, you will enjoy the fruits of your labour”.
