Ekwunife Reiterates Call For Increased Funding In Science, Technology & Innovation At 23rd Empowerment Programme

In line with her commitment towards the development of the Science, Technology and Innovation sector, the senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Uche Ekwunife, PhD, has reiterated that government at all levels should increase funding in the sector, describing it as a critical driver of the economy. She noted that the sector remains essential in the social and economic development in Nigeria.

The federal lawmaker explained that the inability of the most populous black nation in the world to bridge dearth gap, going forward will have overwhelming consequences.

Ekwunife, who spoke at Awka during the day 2 of the ongoing empowerment programme she attracted to constituents noted that her sole aim of the programme was to impact positively in the lives of her constituents. She urged participants to pay apt attention to resource persons in order to equip themselves with impactful knowledge to share with the society.

Commenting on the forthcoming general elections, the A-grade lawmaker expressed confidence that her track records speak volumes, adding that she is optimistic that she is the wish of the masses and will win convincingly at the polls.

In her remarks, the Zonal Director of National Board of Technology Incubation, South East Zonal Office, Dr. Uche Chukwu described Ekwunife as a lawmaker whose sojourn on the floor of the senate has brought tremendous development in the lives of her people.

It is instructive to note that more than 2,100 people have been empowered through the exercise by the quintessential lawmaker. This is however, not the last of the series of empowerment programmes lined up for the benefits of the constituents by the senator.
