The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Uche Ekwunife, PhD, on Saturday, February 18, 2023, commissioned an ultra modern sports facility she built for City Sports Club, Amawbia in Awka South LGA, Anambra State.

The facility was one of the signature projects of the Federal lawmaker across the length and breadth of the zone in the last three and half years in the National Assembly.

Ekwunife, who spoke shortly after commissioning the magnificent club house at City Sports Club noted that the essence of representation is to deploy the instrumentality of legislation to advance the socioeconomic and infrastructure development of the people, adding that she solely chose to serve her constituents and has performed excellently well on the floor of the senate.

The A-grade lawmaker enjoined the members of the club to massively support her consolidation agenda to ensure uninterrupted delivery of quality representation. She remarked that plans are underway to fully equip the facility upon her re-election come February 25, 2023.

Expressing optimism of her all-round victory at the polls, the federal lawmaker expressed that her achievements speak volumes in the zone, saying that her opponents lack the prerequisites to offer a strong voice to the constituents. According to her, no sordid propaganda will deter the electorate from voting her in the PDP.

While encouraging the people of the zone to turn out en masse to vote for her, the ranking Senator reassured of her commitment towards attracting infrastructure development projects and programmes that would always impact on the lives of her constituents.

In his remarks, the President of the City Sports Club, Dr. Ifeanyi Ezeobi, explained that Ekwunife has given the zone a facelift through sterling achievements, stressing that her representation has impacted on the lives of the members of the club and Ndi Anambra at large.

He noted that it would be sheer wickedness for a sane individual to contemplate voting against the quintessential lawmaker after witnessing her tremendous legislative strides.

In his speech, the President General of Amawbia community, Chief Engr. Godwin Aronu, extolled Ekwunife’s uncommon representation especially as it concerns infrastructure development, acknowledging that the good people of Amawbia community have benefited immensely from the representation of the federal lawmaker and would give her the necessary support to continue to do what best she is known for, at the National Assembly.

Earlier, the former Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development of Nigeria, Iyom Josephine Anenih, said that there should be no reason to replace Ekwunife in the National Assembly, adding that the Federal lawmaker is one of the best lawmakers in Nigeria. She lauded the generosity of the Senator in attracting constituency projects.
