Posted on March 4, 2023
The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has approved the immediate promotion of all civil and public servants in the State whose promotions were due in the year 2022.
In a statement, the Edo State Head of Service, Anthony Okungbowa Esq., said the directive is in line with the government’s commitment to the prompt and regular promotion of Civil/Public Servants.
Okungbowa noted that Edo is the first to approve the promotions, which is coming in the second month of the year, noting, “No other state in Nigeria has approved promotions this year, not even the Federal Government. So, this is a major milestone and the governor deserves accolades for prioritizing the welfare of workers.”
He added that the development is in line with the new paradigm in the service which emphasizes and prioritizes the welfare of Civil/Public Servants in Edo State and in particular, that Civil and Public Servants are promoted as and when due.
According to him, “Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) are by this announcement directed to commence and conclude the process of the promotion of eligible officers without delay.
“All Accounting Officers are to ensure strict compliance with this directive, please.”
