Senator Margery Chuba-Okadigbo Felicitates With Nigerians On Easter

In her Easter message, she said, “Easter is a time to remember the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary, and His gift of eternal life for all”.

“It is not just only a time to celebrate Christ’s resurrection from death but a time to deeply reflect on God’s love and grace for mankind and how we can show this love for one another through Christ.”

“The intimate meaning and implication for us as Christians is to remind us of Jesus’ victory through His death and resurrection that have culminated in our redemptive salvation from the soul-damning grip of sin.”

“It calls to mind why we ought to live according to God’s love by learning to love our neighbour as we love ourselves, and living peacefully with one another.”

“We should eschew verbal aggression and actions which stoke the embers of violence, or foment divisiveness and a lower level of public dialogue in our country, and embrace unity and peace at all times.”

“Our leadership of the country can provide direction by instituting national unity and integration. In our individual homes, we should show forth this love by extending the olive branch to those with whom our relationships have become frosty and hostile.”

“In the spirit of His death and resurrection, I pray that God’s blessings shall be the portion of each and every one of us, our homes, our friends, our neighbours and our country.”

“I join my voice with that of millions of other Christians to pray for God’s forgiveness and grace upon our lives, for the sake of His Son, Jesus’ passion on the cross.”
