Ebube Ogbunike: First Ever Conference On Cultural Tourism Set For 20th May

The first ever Conference for Cultural Tourism in Ogbunike is set to be held on Saturday, 20th May, 2023, with the overall theme: “Ebube Ogbunike: Relaunching Ogbunike Tourism through Cultural Heritage and Digitalisation”.
​​The conference, which will be held at the Ogbunike Town Hall, Anambra State, will discuss the latest trends in the areas of culture, heritage and sustainable tourism, including innovation, digitalisation, creativity and cultural tourism product development. It is the first indigenous cultural tourism conference to be held by indigenes of Ogbunike. It will be a get together for culture enthusiasts, traditional titled men, young men and women, who are desirous to contribute meaningfully to the development of Ogbunike’s cultural tourism.
The conference is being organised by Team Make Ogbunike Great (TMOG) in close cooperation with Ogbunike Progress Union (OPU).
Speaking on the epoch making conference, Dr. Chuma-Odili Harris Udokamma, FCMsp (Ogene Ogbunike), Coordinator, Team Make Ogbunike Great(TMOG), said that the group will use the occasion of the conference to reiterate their prayer for peace, progress and unity of Ogbunike. He hinted that the event will start with traditional live music performances and other cultural activities.
“Ogbunike indigenes are a people, who treasure their heritage and value their culture very much in spite of their early contact with education. This is why they pay attention to the traditional ceremonies that abound. The conference will feature paper presentations on cultural tourism by erudite scholars.
The emphasis will be on the important role of cultural heritage and digitalisation in relaunching the Ogbunike tourism.”
“The conference aims to explore major challenges, risks and opportunities for sustainable and responsible tourism development related to culture and heritage assets, as well as suggest practical steps for the development and promotion of cultural tourism products. The theme encompasses all forms of culture, including contemporary cultural expressions and all forms of cultural heritage.”
“Speakers will showcase relevant experience, share their best practices, give detailed examples and provide practical recommendations to preserving, restoring, deploying and promoting Ogbunike culture and heritage values, with innovations for sustainable and responsible tourism development. The relaunching of Ogbunike tourism sector is of particular interest in the 2023 Conference” Team Make Ogbunike Great (TMOG) said.
The epochal event will be covered by dozens of journalists both print, electronic, and online media organizations. It will attract dignitaries from all walks of life, and top government functionaries.
