A 42-year old man, Ogunsekan Oluwafemi, has been arrested in Lagos State for allegedly conspiring and assaulting his brother’s wife, Modinat and stripping her naked in public during a squabble over property.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Ilamoshe Street, off NNPC depot in Ejigbo area of Lagos State, where they reside.
The suspect, Oluwafemi, has been charged for conspiracy,  assault and conduct likely to cause breach of public peace by stripping the victim naked.
According to the Police, the suspect and one other at large, were dragging property belonging to the victim’s husband, which led to both physical combat and it was in the process that she was assaulted and stripped naked.
She was later rescued but before then the people present had seen her nakedness and so she went to the Police at Ejigbo Division and reported the alleged assault on her.
The Police moved into action, arrested the suspect and subsequently charged him before the Isolo Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.
However, he pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned.
The prosecutor, Inspector Solomon, who did not object to his being granted bail, asked the Court to give a short adjournment to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Williams, granted Oluwafemi bail and ordered his remand in custody at the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions while the matter was adjourned for mention.
