UNIZIK Faculty Of Education Honours Chief Nwosu With Distinguished Philanthropist & Humanitarian Award

The leadership of Faculty of Education, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, has honoured Chief Chinedu Titus Nwosu (Ezeala Igirigi I of Azia), with distinguished philanthropist and humanitarian merit award following his exploits in business and humanitarian services.

Presenting the award to Chief Nwosu during the Faculty of Education Alumni Homecoming on Thursday, May 11, 2023, the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Vivian Nwogbo, described the award as well-deserved and testimony to his numerous contributions to business development and selfless service to humanity. She also said the award was in recognition of his contributions in community development.

Responding, Chief Nwosu, represented by Rev. Sr. Dr. Honorata Ogochukwu Nwosu of the Department of Educational Management and Policy, Faculty of Education, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, expressed gratitude to God and the leadership of the faculty for organizing such a programme, while remarking that such an occasion facilitates the marriage of town and gown towards development of institutions. Describing the occasion as “timely and of monumental importance”, the business mogul promised to continue supporting the Faculty whenever need be.

This writer gathered that Chief Nwosu is the Founder/CEO of Chitty Group Ltd, Neft Oil & Gas Ltd, (Nigeria/Uganda), Chitty Metro Line Ltd (Nigeria), Topcer Lojistik Co Ltd (Turkey), Arya Sepehr Mana Co Ltd (Iran) and Chitty International Co Ltd (Gambia). As a successful businessman, Chief Nwosu in 2016, was given the Leadership Excellence Award by the United Chaplains State of New York. His philanthropic efforts also earned him the title ‘Ebekue Dike in Philadelphia’, by the Igbo youths in the USA.
