Hon. Kasunmu Boosts Players Morale At Talent Screening Venue

The lawmaker representing Ikeja Constituency 2 at the Lagos State House of Assembly and sponsor of Lagos Football Talents Open Trails and Screening 2023, Hon. Adedamola Richard Kasunmu (ARK), has earlier paid a surprise visit to the youth participating in the programme at the Police College ground. 

The ranking lawmaker, who is also the Deputy Majority Leader of Lagos State House of Assembly, arrived at the venue midway into the day’s session to a rousing welcome by both players, coaches and officials of JE9 Sports Group, led by O. J. Idogu, who just arrived the country.

Speaking to the participating youth, Hon. Kasunmu expressed delight at the number of youth taking part in the exercise. He also encouraged them to put in their best in order to sail through to the next stage of the trials, emphasizing that only the best and truly skillfully will be selected for international exposure.


Speaking further, he said “I must thank my brother O. J. Idogun and his crew at JE9 Sports Group, for his efforts on this programme and his interest in youth development across Africa. This is just the beginning and we are focusing on boys for now, in future editions we will  consider female players”.

In his remarks, Portugal-based FIFA-Licensed Agent and brain behind JE9 Sports Group, Mr. O. J. Idogun, expressed satisfaction at the massive response of youngsters to the exercise.
He said, “The focus of this programme is to give the youth of Africa the platform to showcase their talents to the world. We have a lot of hidden talents in Africa, especially in Nigeria, our intention at JE9 is to discover, polish and assist them by giving their careers the required leverage for national and international exposure. I want to thank Hon. Kasunmu for collaborating with us on this project. It’s been a fantastic exercise so far”.

Hon. Kasunmu later performed an official ball-kicking with the boys.
He also paid a courtesy call on the Commissioner of Police of the Police College before departing for a crucial State assignment.

Hon Kasunmu’s and OJ’s  address boosted the enthusiasm of the players.
The exercise continues on Friday 23rd June, 2023.
