Give Anambra A Strong Minister! – APC Stakeholder Urges President Tinubu
Posted on July 31, 2023
A stakeholder of the All Progressives Congress in Anambra State, Obi Trice Emeka, has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to nominate a Minister for Anambra State as he sends in the second batch of nominees to the National Assembly.
Obi Trice Emeka, who was reacting to the list of twenty-eight names sent to the Senate last week, congratulated the President for giving women inclusion, especially women from the South East region, but added that the President needs to now coalesce the appointment with a strong nominee, who has a reputation and positive brand awareness in Anambra State to reinvigorate the South East Chapter of the party and position them for the next election in the zone.
“Women from the South East are one of the most resourceful Nigerians you can find. I am not surprised that the President found three of our daughters worthy of being Ministers. We are proud of them and I can vouch that they will represent. However, I think that the zone still needs a minister from Anambra state, who is popular and can connect with the young population in the state and also the long-suffering members in the state to set in motion a renaissance of the party in the zone.”
“Fortunately, from observation of the list released, it appears that the President picked an extra Minister in each zone. This is why we are appealing to the President to pick a Minister from Anambra State. No matter the perspective you look at it from, Anambra is the gateway into the South East and first state, our party, the APC had its first election in, this prophetically means that the APC must win Anambra to get a hold of the SE region” he stated.
Obi Trice Emeka further charged the ministerial nominees to remember that Nigeria is at a crossroads at the moment and needs innovation and unusual thinking to redirect its ship. He advised that they should be reformers and avoid boring bureaucracy.
