Odunmbaku Flags-Off National Immunization Programme For Ojodu LCDA

The Executive Chairman Of Ojodu LCDA, Lagos State, Hon Segun Odunmbaku, today flagged off the National Immunization Plus Days ( NIPDS) at Ogba Primary Health Center to kickstart the vaccination of children in Ojodu and environs against polio and other diseases.

The Ojodu Mayor, who was represented by the Supervisor For Health, Hon Seye Oyekan, said that the flag-off ceremony signified a significant milestone in the relentless fight against diseases that pose a threat to the health of infants and testament to the collective determination to create a healthier and safer environment for the future generations of Ojodu LCDA.

He further said, “Our dedicated team of vaccinators will go door-to-door, ensuring that the polio vaccine reaches every eligible child who may not have had access to it through routine immunization. This grassroots approach is crucial in closing the immunization gap and protecting our children from the devastating effects of polio”.

Hon Segun Odunmbaku also urged all residents to seize the opportunity and ensure that their children, aged zero to 59 months (0-5 years), receive the necessary immunizations.

 

“It is our collective responsibility to protect the health and well-being of our youngest members and secure a brighter future for them” Odunmbaku said.

 

In the same vein, the Permanent Secretary, Lagos Health District VI, Dr. Abimbola Mabogunje, who was represented DPRS Health District VI, Dr Tawak, enjoined the teaming nursing mothers to avail their children the bright future by building strong immune system to mitigate against polio and other deadly diseases. The Health Educators and other partners took turns to corroborate the Permanent Secretary’s admonition.

Also present at the occasion were community leaders, party stalwarts, representatives of Sydani Group, LIO, CCO, and other health workers.
