One of the authorised revenue collectors and partners of the Anambra Internal Revenue Service, Bigly Oil & Gas Services, over the weekend shed more light on the scope and mode of its operations across the state.
Giving insight into their operations, the Project Manager, Mr. Chukwuma Nwabuikwu, first and foremost cleared the air that Bigly Oil & Gas Services is not the only AIRS partner or authorised revenue collector in the state. He hinted that there are other companies in charge of revenue on granite, inter-state buses, stickers and other areas.
Mr. Nwabuikwu said, “Bigly Oil & Gas Services is just one firm out of the partners of AIRS and authorised revenue collectors in Anambra State. We are primarily in charge of revenue on haulage”.
“As a responsible partner of the AIRS, before the commencement of our primary task, we recruited, trained our personnel and educated them on the rules of engagement. For instance, no member of our field team is to be found anywhere on official duty without being properly kitted, so that it will be easy for proper identification and distinction from the urchins, popularly known as ‘agbero’.
You will not also find any of our personnel drinking or smoking on duty. Anyone found going against the rules of engagement faces immediate sack and subsequent handover to the Police for prosecution.”
“For the very fact that we highly treasure our corporate image, we specifically trained our personnel not to engage in any violent act while trying to carry out their functions. We equally have a Quality Control Unit in the three Senatorial Districts of the State, which ensures that our services are seemless and personnel stick to the rules of engagement.”
“Following Governor Soludo’s directive, we run our services electronically. But in cases like where the haulage truck driver does not have ATM card, we equally have Government approved receipts as alternative, which will eventually be remitted electronically.”
“Contrary to insinuations in some quarters, the Governor did not give us any revenue targets. Governor Chukwuma Soludo only charged us to improve greatly on what we met on ground with serious efforts to ensure the drastic reduction of the number of illegal revenue collectors on the streets and roads across the state.”
“In order to forestall illegal collections and impersonation, our front line duty agents wear customized jackets, Bigly branded caps with their ID cards hung around their necks. In the markets and parks, our personnel wears Bigly branded t-shirts and caps equally with their identity cards around their necks.”

“I will also use this opportunity to reiterate that Bigly Oil and Gas Services remains committed and focused on improving the internally generated revenue of our great state, Anambra.”
