Tottenham Must Fall At Old Trafford, Mourinho Warns Man Utd

Jose Mourinho challenged his Manchester United players to beat Tottenham on Saturday after tearing into them for the second time in 48 hours following the shock defeat to Huddersfield in the ongoing English Premier League (EPL).

Mourinho berated his team in the away dressing-room at the John Smith’s Stadium last weekend in the wake of their first Premier League defeat of the season.

But the United boss was still fuming when the squad returned to training at Carrington on Monday morning.

It’s understood that he criticised the players’ attitude, and questioned the heart and hunger within the team.

‘He lost it,’ said a United source to Sportsmail. ‘He shouted at the players that it wasn’t good enough, and told them there’s an expectation to win at United. He wanted a response out of them.’

‘Sometimes, during the season, you have one or two really bad games and Huddersfield was one of them,’ said Herrera.

‘We want to forget, we want to look forward, we want to get good feelings and now we are playing against a top team like Tottenham.

‘It’s not going to be easy. We have a massive game on Saturday and we need to win.’

There was more encouraging news for United on Thursday when Paul Pogba returned to Carrington for the first time since a trip to Miami to rehabilitate his hamstring injury, although the Frenchman trained apart from the main group.

Pogba, who has missed nine games so far, is believed to be targeting the visit to champions Chelsea on November 5 for his comeback.

Meanwhile, former United midfielder Shinji Kagawa has become the first Asian player to commit to Common Goal, the football charity pioneered by his old teammate Juan Mata.
