How Hon. Segun Odunmbaku Is Transforming Ojodu LCDA With HEYS Agenda

When the Executive Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, Lagos State, Hon Segun Odunmbaku, took over the mantle of leadership about two years ago, he promised to anchor his administration on the HEYS agenda. And so far, he has been able to bring about massive transformation to the Council area.
The HEYS agenda, which is made up of Health, Education, Youth and Women Development and Social and Infrastructural Development, is
being executed in tandem with the THEMES agenda of the Babajide Sanwo-Olu Led State Government and has brought unprecedented developments across the length and breadth of the Ojodu Local Council Development Area.
With a strong focus on the health of the citizens living and doing businesses within the Council area, the Odunmbaku administration has upgraded all the primary healthcare centres (including provision of alternative energy to boost healthcare services). His administration has equally severally embarked on free medical/surgical interventions while securing health insurance for 1000 residents. The Ojodu Mayor has equally commenced the “See A Doctor” initiative, which will help bring health care closer to his people. Not done, the Odunmbaku administration is set to commence the construction of a Mini-General Hospital to cater for the health needs of the people aside ambulances, which the administration has provided to take care of emergency situations.
Hon Segun Odunmbaku, while providing updates to journalists on Thursday 14th March, 2024, on the progress made by his administration and their immediate plans, outlined some of the key achievements and as well highlighted the construction and renovation of several roads including Fadeyi Street, Paul Avenue and Umaru Saro Drive, among others ongoing.
Aside donation of JAMB and GCE Forms with coaching classes, his administration has provided 600 sets of furniture and 50,000 books to primary and junior schools to cater for the educational needs of the community. The Segun Odunmbaku administration is set to commence an ICT-oriented programme, tagged Creative Kids, which is targeted to engage children in the Council area in different areas of information technology.
Additionally, the Chairman listed initiatives executed towards improving the standard of living for the residents of Ojodu LCDA, such as grants and loans for small businesses, provision of palliatives like free buses and subsidised food, bursary and scholarships for indigent students, cash empowerments for nano traders, supports for the senior citizens and persons living with disabilities, and vocational trainings for youths.
Hon. Odunmbaku reiterated his administration’s commitment to the construction and completion of the proposed Eweobaja market, Recreational Centre and other people-centered social infrastructure for the betterment of the good people of Ojodu LCDA.
He equally reaffirmed his administration’s commitment towards inclusive and open-door governance by partnering with well meaning individuals, corporate and charitable organizations to cater for myriad of needs of the people.
“Organizations such as Kennols, Lions Club, Rotary Club, WaterAid, ETL Engineering Services etc, have partnered with us to carry out various projects, complementing the efforts of our administration” Hon. Odunmbaku said.
The Ojodu Mayor also hinted journalists about palliative measures adopted by the Council to cushion the effect of the fuel subsidy removal, the interest free loans, sharing of food items to residents, tackling of out-of-school children, market development, road infrastructure with particular reference to the intervention by his administration to curb flooding at the Area G Police Command area at Ogba and many others.

The Secretary to the Local Government, Hon Olaide John Bello, while applauding his boss, Odunmbaku, for noble strides and vision, appreciated the media personalities who help to showcase the achievements of the administration while restating the commitments made by Ojodu LCDA Mayor to improve the overall well-being of the residents.
