Boy, 14, Docked For Engaging Girl, 7, In Sex Inside School Premises

A 14- year-old boy, (name withheld) has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for defilement for allegedly engaging a 7-year old girl in sex inside the school premises.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 13th February, 2024 at a private school in Ikeja area of Lagos, where both attend the school, while the boy resides at 18 Amoo Street, Agege area of Lagos.
He was charged before the Ogba Magistrate Court for defilement, which attracts several years of imprisonment or life imprisonment.
The prosecutor, Supol Raji Akeem, told the Court that the defilement was committed inside the school premises, where the defendant is one of the pupils.
The prosecutor said that the girl told her mother what happened when she was having pain while urinating and the offence contravened Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
However, he pleaded not guilty.

The Presiding Chief Magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500, 000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and addresses verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned till 11th April, 2024, for mention while the defendant was moved into the remand home pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
The name of the defendant and victim were withheld because they are still minor in the face of the law in line with the policy of P.M.EXPRESS as an organization.
However, the boy risks several years of imprisonment or life imprisonment if found guilty before the Court for the alleged offence under the Law despite his age.
