The Distinguished lawmaker representing Ogun West Senatorial District, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, has assured of his readiness to join hands with worthy clubs and groups in any humanitarian venture aimed at addressing the needs of the society, just as he pledged to continually better the lot of his people as their representative in the National Assembly.

Senator Adeola, popularly called YAYI, said it has become apparent today that the government alone cannot provide all the services needed, hence the propriety of private organisations driven by the love of humanity stepping forward to lend helping hands and address the  development challenges facing people and the society.

The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations made the position known on Friday in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, while making his remarks as Chairman/Chief Launcher at the 40th anniversary of Mace Club of Nigeria and launching of N100million Authority Hall project located at the Club House, off Abeokuta – Sagamu Expressway, Abeokuta.

The Aremo of Yewaland and Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District, who also turned the sod of the planned Hall, donated the sum of N20million in support of the project, even as he motivated other donors, including foremost Nigeria real estate entrepreneur and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pelican Valley Nigeria Limited, Ambassador (Dr) Babatunde Adeyemo,  to donate generously in support of the Mace Club.

Adeola hailed the Club for its many humanitarian and societal development initiatives ranging from education, health to support for the underprivileged and disadvantaged in the society, including assisting the Leper’s Colony at Iberekodo, scholarship for indigent students and health promotion programmes like the Roll Back Malaria.

He urged members to rededicate themselves to the ideals of its founding fathers as it turned 40.

Also, the Pelican Valley CEO, Ambassador Babatunde Adeyemo, in his goodwill message, lauded the Club for the calibre of its members and the unity of purpose, friendship and good ideals that kept them together and forging ahead courageously in the last four decades with remarkable achievements to show for it.

Earlier in his speech, President of Mace Club of Nigeria, Mace (Chief) Lolu Elemide, described the 40th anniversary as a celebration of decades of “friendship, discipline and value,” assuring that the Club will continue to grow in leaps and bounds.
