Ogene Ogbunike Commiserates With Umunya Community On Upcoming Last Ofala Of HRH Igwe Chris Onyekwuluje, Eze Nya

Veteran Filmmaker, Journalist and Igbo culture Advocate, Ogbuefi Dr. Chuma-Odili Harris Udokamma a.k.a Ogene Ogbunike, on Sunday, 28th April, 2024, commiserated with the people of Umunya in Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State as they are set for the Last Ofala Ceremony of thier traditional ruler, His Royal Highness (HRH) Igwe Chris Onyekwuluje, Eze Nya.

Ogene Ogbunike described the late traditional ruler as a close friend of his family, and Anambra media community noting that his support and prayers contributed immensely to the success of Anambra Media Excellence Awards (AMEA).

Ogene Ogbunike, while receiving the special Invitation to the Last Ofala said, “Eze Nya always supported and prayed for politicians, and media practitioners in Anambra. He governed the people well, and ensured peace, harmony and progress for his people. He is no longer with us but he stood for truth, fairness, peace and progress”.

Extending condolences to the people of Umunya on behalf of Team Make Ogbunike Great, Ogene added, “He has served and been a good example and will be remembered for his good works and legacy. The good people of Oyi/Ayamelum LGAs respectively will always remember his active role in stabilizing the political growth and development of the zone”.

Ogene said the highly influential and revered traditional ruler contributed immensely to the on going construction of Ndichie/Ogbuefi Ogbunike hall.

“Eze Nya was among the dignitaries who attended the official fundraising ceremony organised by Traditional Council of Ndichie/Ogbuefi Ogbunike in 2021, where he donated money in support of the building project.”

“Eze Nya lived an exemplary life worthy of emulation, not only by his community but by all who crossed his path while he was alive.” Ogene said

The Last Ofala of Eze Nya has been slated for May 3, 2024.
