Massive Crowd At Ohanaeze Ndigbo Coronation Of Eze Peter Asonye As Ezendigbo Of Lekki LCDA

It was pomp and pageantry at the Union Bank Event Centre in Surulere on Sunday 5th May, 2024, as a massive crowd converged to witness as Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State led by the President, Chief Solomon Aguene, had Eze Peter Ifeanyi Asonye coronated as Ezendigbo of  Lekki LCDA. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that Ndigbo across the Local Government areas of the State and outside Lagos were there to witness the event, which was said to have witnessed an unprecedented crowd since Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State was created.
Those in attendance included the President, Chief Aguene and his Executives, Igbo Council of elders, led  by business mogul and MD Chisco Group of companies, Chief Dr Chidi Anyaegbu, Chief Charles Odunukwe, (Chalddon), Chairman Supreme Council of Ndieze led by Eze Lawrence Nnamdi Eze and his Deputy,  Eze Vincent Iwobi and other traditional rulers led by Ezendigbo, Lagos State,  Eze Christian Uchechukwu Nwachukwu, Eze Chika Nwokedi and  Eze Oliver Ohanwe of Ugiri in Mbano town in Imo State, who was the royal father of the day.
Also the Lagos State Government, as represented by the top Government functionaries, identified with Chief Aguene, who also holds the chieftaincy title of Udochia Ndigbo.
Others in attendance included Ohanaeze Chairmen of 57 Local Government areas in the State, youths, market men and women, captains of Industry and Igbo in the entertainment industry, members of various churches led by Prophetess Adaobi Orjiakor, who came to witness the epoch event.
The crowd was much as the security agencies had herculean task trying to control the people as some were prevented from entering at the event due to unavailability of space.
The Ohanaeze President, Lord Mayor Aguene, expressed happiness that Ndigbo are stronfly behind him and will continue to support his drive to work for the Igbo.
He noted that the crowd, which gathered at the event has made a clear statement that they have Chief Aguene as their leader in Lagos State and will continue to support him.
Chief Aguene thanked Ndigbo for the repose of confidence in his leadership and noted that the crowd present at the event were Igbo and were not rented because Ndigbo trust him. He promised to continue to work for the interest of Ndigbo in Lagos State.
Tthe host, Eze Asonye (Eze Ohazurume), expressed his happiness that Ndigbo attended the event massively, which shows that they were in support of him as Ezendigbo in Lekki.
He stated that he accepted to be the King because it was the collective decision of Ndigbo to crown him as King because of his track records in the past.
Eze Asonye revealed that he has been championing the Igbo course as a peace ambassador and that was why he was given the title Lord Mayor by the United Nations organization.
He assured that he will continue to assist people and ensure that the less privileged in the society have succour by providing for them and he has concluded the arrangements to empower the less privileged through empowerment programmes.
The event witnessed the display by various Igbo dancing groups singing praises of Chief Aguene and Ohanaeze Ndigbo. Masquerades from Igbo land were also on display including the popular musicians Ayaka from Ozubulu.
