20,000 Nigerians Can Save Sadiq Dabah – Mumuni

Nigerian politician and author Ambassador Abayomi Nurain Mumuni has called on Nigerians to save the ailing veteran Nollywood actor, Sadiq Dabah, who is battling Leukemia and prostate cancer.
Mumuni believes that rather than waiting for succour to come from politicians or government, only 20,000 Nigerians can raise N20 million in a single day, by contributing N1000 each to assist Dabah to seek urgent medical attention abroad.
“I have read online the efforts of some friends and colleagues of the ailing actor to raise N20 million, and I have also read somewhere that Nigerians are expecting Senators or government to save his life. These are very good moves, but they amount to wasting of precious time,” Mumuni said.
“If 20,000 out of over 170 million Nigerians transfer just N1,000 each into his account as we speak, we would have raised N20 million in less than a day,” he added.
Mumuni, the author of “Global Terrorism and its Effects on Humanity” noted that although he doesn’t encourage the mad rush abroad for medical treatment, he doesn’t see any wrong in Dabah travelling abroad for urgent medical treatment.
“After all, the President just returned from medical treatment abroad, where he stayed for over a hundred days. Sadiq Dabah too should be flown abroad to save his life. Government needs to invest more in the health sector”, said Mumuni.
The APC chieftain also said there was hardly a teenager in the 70s and 80s who didn’t know Bitrus on popular television series, Cock Crow At Dawn.
“Unlike the new generation, we grew up watching Cock Crow At Dawn and Bitrus was always my favourite. Elder Sadiq has paid his dues in the industry and we must contribute our quota to saving his life. I have just instructed my account officer to send a sizeable amount into the ABUBAKAR SADIQ DABAH – 1005382276 – UBA account. Let’s be our brother’s keeper. We can’t rely on  the government anymore,” he concluded.
