Strike: Exams Will Continue – Says Rivers State Govt

The Rivers State Ministry of Education has announced to the general public and candidates writing the the ongoing Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) conducted by West African Examination Council (WAEC), that the Examination will continue throughout the state despite the notice of indefinite Strike Action by the NLC and TUC.

 

According to Hon. Dr. Ovy Chinedum Chukwuma, the Commissioner for Education, while the Ministry shared the concerns of the NLC AND TUC, they are also concerned that WAEC examination is ongoing all over West African Countries and halting the process in the state will affect the future and result of their candidates hence WAEC as a body has resolved to go on with the process.

 

Therefore, all principals, and supervisors, are enjoined to continue with the conduct of the examination while candidates are advised to continue their Examination despite the strike action.
