Mrs. Josephine Effiong Passes On At 88

The wife of Late Major General Philip Effiong, Mrs. Josephine Effiong has died. 
Josephine Effiong, who passed on at 88 years, was the wife of Obong (Major General) Philip Efiong, Akankang Ibiono-Ibom (18 November 1925 – 6 November 2003), who was the first Vice President and the second and last President of the Republic of Biafra from 1967 to 1970. Effiong served meritoriously until the last minute with General Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu.
Josephine’s maternal ancestry is Igbo from Ukwuani area in Delta State while her paternal ancestry is Welsh from Wales, UK. She got married to Philip Effiong from Ibiono Ibom in Akwa Ibom State in 1956. She is survived by her sister and seven children, having lost her first son in 2022.
