The Chairman of Council of Ndieze in Lagos State, Eze Chika Nwokedi, has urged Ndigbo not to participate in the planned protest organized by faceless groups and called for peace and unity among the ethnic groups in Nigeria.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that Eze Nwokedi stated this at the Area M Command in Idimu, Lagos, during the stakeholders meeting held with the Commissioner of Police,  CP Adegoke Fayoade, over the planned protest in Lagos State.
Eze Nwokedi explained that Lagos State has been the epi-center for all ethnic groups in Nigeria and has blessed many people. And it will amount to foolishness for those living in Lagos State to support such protest to destroy lives and property in the State.
He explained that Lagos has blessed him and Ndigbo including people from other ethnic groups in Nigeria, stressing that it will be foolishness to support people, who have no stake in the State to embark on an unnecessary protest.
He stated that he has been going round the State educating Ndigbo and other ethnic groups on why they should not participate in the protest and assured CP Fayoade and other critical stakeholders  that Ndigbo will not participate in the protest in Lagos State.
Eze Nwokedi urged all Nigerians to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and give him time to fix the economy and other challenges facing Nigeria and all should be patient with him.
“He is just one year in office and he needs more time to implement his policies in order to improve on the economic hardship many people are facing in Nigeria” he said.
Eze Chika Nwokedi called for peace and unity among the ethnic groups because every human being is the same before God despite the tribe one comes from and he gave instance where one wants to have blood infusion in the hospital,  such person will not be asked to bring his tribe’s own blood for transfusion. And that demonstrates that every human being is the same.
The meeting was attended by senior Police officers led by CP Adegoke Fayoade, Area Commanders, DPOs, traditional rulers, members of PCRC, Igbo and Hausa leaders including other critical stakeholders across the State.
While addressing the summit, the Police boss explained that the summit was called for the stakeholders to educate their people especially the youths in their areas not to participate in the protest because the Police will not allow the destruction of lives and property as the case of EndSARS protest.
