Woman Battered For Using Police To Recover Debt

A 56-year old woman, Agnes Ibudumi shocked the police after she reportedly vented her anger and attacked a female complainant, Agnes Akogun at the police station for using the police to recover debt.

The victim suffered her fate after she went to the police station, reported Agnes and asked the police to assist her to recover an undisclosed amount which she was owing. The police arrested Agnes and detained her at the police station. When the complainant came to the police station on the matter, Ibudumi reportedly attacked and injured her.

The issue of the debt was kept aside and a charge was prepared against her for assault and she was arraigned at the Magistrates court.

She pleaded not guilty.

The presiding Magistrate, Mr. K.L.J Layeni granted her bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.
She was remanded in prison custody pending when she will perfect her bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 15 January, 2018.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Agnes had obtained a loan from Blessing under certain conditions but was unable to meet up and repay the money.
It was gathered that when it was obvious to Blessing that she will not be able to recover the loan from Agnes, she reported the matter to the police.
