The Chairman of United Nigeria Airlines and Spokesperson for the Airline Operators of Nigeria, Professor Obiora Okonkwo, OFR, FNIPR, delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks during the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony between Boeing and the Nigerian aviation industry in Seattle, Washington, USA.

The delegation was led by the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Olorogun Festus Keyamo, SAN.

Earlier, the Honourable Minister, along with Prof. Okonkwo and a select delegation from Nigeria’s aviation sector, departed for the USA to formalize this critical partnership with Boeing, a global leader in aircraft manufacturing.

The MoU paves the way for Nigerian airline operators to access and lease newer aircraft, receive comprehensive training in airline operations and business models, and benefit from Boeing’s expertise in several key areas, including:

– Access to Boeing’s data for optimizing maintenance practices.
– Collaboration on enhancing safety and operational efficiency.
– Joint initiatives with regulatory bodies to strengthen safety oversight in the region.
– Consultation from Boeing experts on airport capabilities and the development of Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facilities.

“We take immense pride in the leadership of our Chairman and the Honourable Minister for Aviation, whose unwavering dedication is reshaping the future of Nigeria’s aviation industry” the aviation group said.
