Salesman, 22, Docked For Arranging With Robbers To Steal Madam’s N22m
KINGSLEY EBERE

When Mrs. Folaham Olanike employed 22-year old Boluwatife Aina as salesman to manage her shop at the shopping mall in Omoroga Market at Meiran area of Lagos, she did not know that she employed a hardened criminal.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the salesman, Aina, allegedly arranged with robbers who invaded the shop, damaged her laptop which was being used for the running of the business, carted away N22m and escaped.
The incident happened on 5th July, 2024, at the shop, where Aina was employed as salesman by Mrs. Olanike.
The following day, on getting to her shop, Mrs. Olanike discovered what happened, went to the Police in the area and reported. Then the Police moved into action, trailed Aina and eventually arrested and detained him at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
During interrogation, the Police discovered that the suspect conspired with others now at large to commit the alleged dastardly act as he admitted and claimed that he had spent part of his share of the money.
The Police found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court for the alleged conspiracy and stealing under the Criminal Laws of the State.
However, he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Benedict Aigbokhan, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, K.A. Ariyo, granted him bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
