A tactical team from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) has secured the release of a couple and their six-month-old daughter abducted in Kaduna State.

The family was rescued on Thursday following their abduction by armed bandits at Alrahus Estate, Millennium City, in Chikun Local Government Area of the state.

Family sources confirmed the development, stating that the couple and their baby were receiving medical treatment at a security medical facility after their release.

The family was abducted on October 6, 2026, when armed bandits reportedly stormed the estate at about 11:30 p.m.

Their abduction sparked concern among residents, prompting appeals to security agencies and members of the public for urgent intervention to secure their release.

The unfortunate abduction escalated after the bandits released a video of the couple and their infant baby, demanding a N300 million ransom.

In the footage, Ahmad Abubakar Zakka, the abducted man appealed for public help while sitting with his wife and the baby on his lap. An armed assailant points an AK-47 at his head and threatens to kill him as the family pleads for their release.

But their rescue comes amid growing concerns over kidnapping and banditry in Kaduna State, with residents calling on security agencies to intensify efforts to protect lives and property.
