The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State on Transportation, Hon. Toyin Aremu, held a significant strategic planning session with the Executive Chairman of the Ojodu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Segun Odunmbaku. The meeting was part of ongoing efforts to support Mr. Governor’s vision for a more efficient and environmentally friendly transportation system in the state.

The dialogue between Omo Aremu and the Council Chairman focused on charting a way forward to ensure that Lagos, particularly in the Ojodu LCDA, is prepared to contribute to the greener future that is envisioned under the “T” in Mr. Governor’s THEMES+ agenda. The “T,” which stands for *Traffic Management and Transportation*, emphasizes improving transportation infrastructure and reducing the environmental impact of traffic in Lagos.

During the session, both leaders deliberated on how to implement sustainable transportation strategies at the grassroots level, including the adoption of cleaner transport technologies, improving road networks, and reducing carbon emissions from vehicles. Hon. Aremu stressed the need for strong collaboration between the State and Local Government areas to achieve this goal, emphasizing that only through coordinated efforts can the state’s ambitious plans for a cleaner, more livable Lagos be realized.

The Executive Chairman of Ojodu LCDA expressed his commitment to ensuring that the Council actively supports the state’s transportation objectives by adopting policies that align with greener and smarter transportation systems.

This meeting underscores the administration’s determination to make Lagos a leader in sustainable urban transportation. With transport playing such a vital role in the day-to-day lives of Lagosians, this initiative aims not just to ease traffic congestion but to create a future where Lagos becomes a model city for environmental sustainability and smart transportation solutions.

As the discussions continue, we look forward to seeing the tangible results of this strategic partnership between the state and local governments, all in line with Mr. Governor’s vision of a Greater Lagos for all.
