Our Developmental Strides Will Give APC Winning Edge – AbdulRazaq Assures Party’s Candidates
Ahead of the September 21st local government elections in Kwara State, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON has met with the 16 chairmanship candidates of the All Progressives Congress, APC, emphasizing his administration’s successes will give them a winning edge at the polls on Saturday.
The governor said his administration had done so much in terms of development since it came on board in 2019, and that he is confident that the APC candidates will ride on this gesture and come out victorious in their various local governments.
Governor AbdulRazaq, who hosted the candidates at the Government House, equally charged them to be a good ambassador of the party and should not make the election a do-or-die affair.
He emphasized that while he desires his party’s victory in all election categories, but not at the expense of the citizens, urging party members to set a positive example and ensure peaceful conduct from their supporters across local governments.
Governor AbdulRazaq also tasked them to work together including the ward councillors, for the party to record 100 per cent success at the polls.
“Remember that our party’s values, unity, integrity, and service must remain paramount so try as much as possible to be good ambassadors of the party before, during and after the elections
“You must also ensure you work for the party in general because our party’s strength lies not in individual victories, but in collective success.
He called on the electorates to troop out en masse to cast their votes for the APC chairmanship and the councilorship candidates so that they would witness massive development at the grassroots.
Speaking on behalf of the chairmanship candidates, Hon. Benjamin Lanre Jolayemi thanked Governor Abdulrazaq for settling for a hitch-free electoral exercise.
In the same vein, the APC campaign rally ended yesterday with electorates seen across the 16 Local Government areas trooping out en masse to throw their weight behind the candidates of the APC.
