Man, 35, Arrested For Sexually Molesting Girl,13, Inside Super Store

A 35-year old man,  Abuja Mohammed, has been arrested and charged for sexually molesting a 13-year old girl by penetrating her private part inside a super store in Lagos State. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 19th September, 2024, at Mini Max Store, Ojodu Berger area of Lagos.
According to the Police,  the suspect had on 19th September, 2024, indecently assaulted the victim by rubbing his dick on her private part and was eventually caught.
The matter was reported to the Police at Ojodu Division and he was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
After interrogation, the Police found him culpable and then charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.
The charges read:
“That you,  Abuja Mohammed, on the 19th day of September, 2024 at about 2155hrs at Mini Max Store, Ojodu Berger, Lagos in the Ikeja Magisterial District did unlawfully and indecently assault the victim by rubbing your penis on her vagina and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 261 the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
The Court did not take his plea when he was arraigned following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Inspector John Iberedem, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. E. Kubenije, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s legal advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.
The matter was adjourned till 23rd October, 2024, for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
