The Honourable Member of the House of Representatives representing Kosofe Federal Constituency, Hon. Kafilat Ogbara, has officially on 28th September, 2024, commissioned a Senior Citizens Relaxation Centre in her Constituency.

The centre located at Omole Phase II, Ikosi-Isheri LCDA under Kosofe Federal Constituency, is adjusted as a landmark event that underscores her commitment to the elderly.

The initiative, themed “Promise Made, Promise Kept,” highlights Ogbara’s dedication to the welfare of her constituents.

During the ceremony, Ogbara expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity to serve the elderly members of her constituency. Reflecting on her campaign promises, she stated,

“When I engaged with the elderly during my campaign, I made it clear that their voices matter. They told me they needed a place to relax, read newspapers, and socialize. Today, I stand before you, proud to have facilitated the realization of that vision.”

The facility, designed as a sanctuary for senior citizens, includes reading areas and social spaces, fostering community interaction and engagement.

Ogbara emphasized that the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is “responsive and responsible,” reinforcing the administration’s commitment to addressing the needs of its citizens.

In his address, the Chairman of the Community Development Association (CDA) of Omole Phase II praised Ogbara’s swift response to the community’s needs.

“This is the first initiative of its kind in our estate, and it is the first time we have received a gift from a politician. We are grateful for her commitment to our community,” he remarked, highlighting the significance of the center for local seniors.

Residents gathered for the event expressed their appreciation through prayers and well-wishes for Ogbara, acknowledging her efforts to uplift the elderly in the area.

In her concluding remarks, Ogbara reminded attendees of the importance of supporting the government and urged patience as they work together to overcome challenges.

“Let us remain united in our support for this government, and I promise to continue advocating for the needs of our community,” she affirmed.
