Orashi National Congress Visits Commander Of Octopus Strike Force Unit
Respected Niger Delta socio-cultural group, Orashi National Congress, ONC, has paid a visit to the office of CSP Julian Wealth Igbudu, Commander of the Octopus Strike Force Unit, Rivers State Police Command.
The visit, led by the President General, Amb Comrade Emeni Ibe, was aimed at familiarization and showing gratitude. The Orashi National Congress expressed their appreciation for the commendable efforts of the Rivers State Police in maintaining peace and security across the region.
In his speech, Amb. Comrade Emeni Ibe, speaking on behalf of the people of Orashi Region—comprising Abua/Odual, Ahoada East, Ahoada West, and Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Areas—extended their best wishes to the Inspector General of Police and the Rivers State Police Command for CSP Igbudu’s appointment as Commander of the Octopus Strike Force Unit.
The President General acknowledged the success recorded under Igbudu’s leadership in promoting peace and security, adding that the Orashi people were particularly grateful for his firm commitment in ensuring proper policing across the state.
“We are proud of your exemplary disposition, which is worthy of emulation. We are here today to present an award of honour as a token of appreciation for your immense contribution and faithful discharge of duty.”
The Orashi National Congress also used the opportunity to appeal to the police hierarchy to grant CSP Igbudu special recognition and promotion, highlighting his gallant service to the region and the Rivers State Police Command.
As part of the visit, Amb. Comrade Ibe emphasized the commitment of the Congress to supporting the Police in maintaining peace and security within the Orashi region. He outlined key areas where the Orashi National Congress is actively campaigning, including efforts against pipeline vandalism, illegal refineries, and cultism. The Congress also pledged to continue working closely with security agencies to ensure sustained peace in the area.
“We appeal to you to support us in our forthcoming Orashi Peace, Unity, and Security campaign across the four Local Government areas,” the PG said while stressing the importance of continued cooperation between the local communities and the security forces.
In response, CSP Julian Wealth Igbudu expressed his gratitude for the recognition and reaffirmed the commitment of the Octopus Strike Force Unit to maintaining peace and security in the region. He acknowledged the challenges faced but assured the delegation of his continued dedication to the vision of the Inspector General of Police and the Rivers State Police Command.
The visit was concluded with words of gratitude from both parties, reaffirming their mutual commitment to the safety and development of Rivers State.
