In a bid to address the long-standing flooding challenges at Area G, Ogba, the Hon. Segun Odunmbaku administration has partnered with the Lagos State Government to construct a robust drainage system and culvert at the Ogba Bus Stop.
The project aims to provide a lasting solution to the recurrent flooding, which has plagued residents and businesses in the area for years. Ojodu LCDA is spearheading the construction of side drainage opposite the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ) to Excellence Hotel, while the Lagos State Government is responsible for building the cross culverts.
This collaborative effort is expected to facilitate the free flow of wastewater and ensure long-term durability once Ogunnusi Road, Ogba is reconstructed.
During a site inspection with Engr. Lateef Somide, former MD of LSPWC, now PS in Ministry Of Works and also in a recent media parley, Hon Segun Odunmbaku emphasized his administration’s commitment to delivering the project on time and according to specifications. The drainage initiative is seen as a critical step toward improving infrastructure and enhancing the quality of life in Ojodu LCDA.
It must be noted that desilting excersice had been carried by Ojodu LCDA Department of Environmental Services on and around Ogba, Mokuolu Street, Sunday Market, where drainages were desilted, packed and evacuated all around Area G Police Command and shops around the Ogba axis.
