The Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, has challenged the Immigration officers to remain committed and think innovatively to tackle emerging challenges.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the Honourable Minister spoke in Jos, Plateau State, when he attended the ongoing Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) Comptroller General Annual Conference 2024, themed: Enhancing Border Security and Immigration Management in a Globalized World: Challenges and Opportunities for Nigeria.
In his keynote address, Dr Tunji-Ojo charged officers to remain committed to service and think innovatively to tackle emerging challenges. With trends constantly evolving, he noted that existing modules may become obsolete, and it behoves of us as progressive thinkers to adapt and stay ahead of the curve.
He emphasised President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to supporting the Nigeria Immigration Service as a frontline agency in Nigeria. Additionally, he noted that our borders extend beyond land, sea, and air –hence, we must prepare for the new frontier of the cyber space.
“As a government built on the mandate to lead change, we must, therefore, build modules for tactical management of this digital border, ensuring our security and prosperity. More than ever before, I am confident that our dreams of a greater Nigeria, where both men and women – young or old – shall attain true greatness, will be achieved” Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo said.
