Senator Idiat Oluranti Adebule Trains & Empowers 1000 Lagos West Constituents

In fulfillment of her pact with the people of Lagos West, Distinguished Senator Idiat Oluranti Adebule in conjuction with Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) and National Institute for Freshwater Fisheries Research (NIFFRI) organized a one week intensive skill acquisition, Ailing Business support and capacity enhancement training in Fashion, Barbing, Confectionery, Leather Works and Hairdressing during which 1,000 youths and women were trained.

Senator Adebule topped up the training and capacity enhancements with an empowerment programme on Monday 18th November, 2024, at LTV Blueroof Arena, Lateef Jakande Road, Ikeja, where the Distinguished Lawmaker gifted the participants with necessary tools and equipment to further their trades leading to individual growth and boost to the economy of the State and the nation. 

The event commenced with the National Anthem and opening prayers after which Hon. Sodiq Abayomi, the DG of Senator Adebule’s Campaign, gave the opening remarks and eulogized the Distinguished Senator for quality representation at the National Assembly, 

Thereafter, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos State, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, members of the Governor’s Advisory Council, Dr Abayomi Finnih and Cardinal James Odunmbaku alongside representatives of the collaborating Institute and Agency gave brief remarks. 

In their different remarks, they praised Senator Idiat Adebule for the initiative while charging the beneficiaries to maximize the opportunity, make good use of the equipment handed over to them and never consider the thought of selling them as it would defeat the essence of the training and empowerment. 

The beneficiaries, represented by Olaitan Kareem, Agbaje Habib and Rebecca Aribo, expressed their appreciation to Senator Idiat Adebule for the gesture. While praying for God’s blessings on the distinguished lawmaker, they promised to make the best use of the tools and equipment handed over to them after the week long training and capacity enhancements. 

The host of the event, Senator Idiat Oluranti Adebule, who was welcomed to the podium for her address with a loud applause, assured that more trainings and empowerment programmes are on the way for her teeming Constituents. She called on Lagos West Constituents to continue to support the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, assuring that things will get better. 

Like other leaders, Senator Adebule charged the beneficiaries not to entertain the thought of selling the items but to make maximum use of them for the betterment of their own lives and the economy of the nation. Before she rounded up her remarks, the respected lawmaker praised one of her colleagues, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi, for his unalloyed support asking God to continue to bless and take him to greater heights. 

The whole place erupted in wild celebrations as the beneficiaries received leather sewing machines, cloth sewing machines, hair dryers with standing hair washing kits, cordless barbing clippers, sterilizing machines and brushes while others got two way burners, gas cylinders, set of cooking pots with cooking spoons. 

Not done yet, Senator Adebule topped the event up with transportation fee for each participating person and the hall went into a frenzy. 

It was indeed a successful programme as the event attracted political leaders from across Lagos State including Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, Senator Ganiyu Solomon, Hon. Lateef Ibirogba, Council Chairmen and other dignitaries with different apex leaders of the All Progressives Congress represented.
