Thousands Of Beneficiaries Smile Home After Benefiting From Okeowo’s Mega Empowerment & Palliative Program

In justification of the saying “Promises may be simple words, but when fulfilled, they create a beautiful melody of trust”, the progressive Executive Chairman of Ifelodun LCDA, Mayor Olufemi Akanbi Okeowo, has successfully embarked on the Mega Empowerment and Food Palliative Program.

 

The event took place on Thursday, 28th November 2024, at the Nigerian Army Signal Barracks, Mile 2.

The Mega Empowerment and palliative program is a grandiose version of the monthly palliative outreach, which witnessed thousands of beneficiaries including artisans, traders, business owners and residents within Ifelodun LCDA receiving empowerment items, cash gifts and food packages. This is borne out of efforts by the Local Council to provide economic relief, ease burden of rising food costs and aid small businesses in the community.

This is a testament to Okeowo’s commitment to fostering socio-econimic welfare of Ifelodun residents as the program witnessed distribution of range of empowerment items such as; Mini Buses (Korope), Tricycles (Keke Marwa), Baking Flour, Blood Pressure Monitors, Cattle Feeds, Sewing Machines, Cover Button Machines, Deep Freezers, Fish Feeds, Gel Nail Dryers, Generators, Grinding Machines, Grinding/Grilling Machines, Hair Straighteners, Hair Tonging Tools, Inner Weaving Equipment, Hair Clippers, 6kg Gas Cylinders, Makeup Kits, Minerals, Noodles, Popcorn Machines, Poultry Feed, Salon Mask Hand Dryers, Hair Washing Basins, Sterilizers, Stoning Machines, Artisans’ Toolboxes, Vulcanizing Machines, Welding Machines; food palliative packages for 1,500 residents, cash support of ₦50,000 each to 100 petty traders and ₦10,000 each to 500 vulnerable youths, aged residents, and 200 young families across the community.

Fatai Adekunle Ayoola; Olu of Iwa & Apapa Kingdom, HRM Oba Moroof Oyekunle Oluwa; Wife of GAC member and Badagry Division Apex Leader, Yeye Taofikat Ireti Oluwa; Former Member, Federal House of Representatives and Ifelodun G-17 Chairman, Hon. Taiwo Oyewole Adenekan; The Immediate Past Ifelodun LCDA Council Chairman, Hon. Fatai Ajidagba; First Executive Chairman of Ajeromi-Ifelodun LGA, Hon. Dr. Abiola Ajijola and other G-17 members, Members of Ifelodun Executive and Legislative Arm, Members of Ifelodun Chieftaincy Council, The Management team, Super 35 Ladies, Market Association, Members of CAN and League of Imams, The Youth ans members of rhe Press.

 

The Council Mayor, expressed his gratitude to the party leaders, colleagues, and residents whose commitment have contributed to recorded progress so far, noting that there’s more to expect in the coming year.
