The National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools, Nigeria, Lagos Island chapter, held its first banquet in 2024 and inducted new members to the association.

Speaking at the event, State President, High Chief Alaka Yusuf Lukman, praised NAPPS Lagos Island for organising the first of its kind, adding no polarisation of the association, and urged the new investiture to commit and cooperate with the chapter.
Alaka expressed: “I’m glad for what I have seen. NAPPS Lagos Island is intact, with no division, and they swore in 12 new members, which is a good achievement for them. In unity, we move forward, and the chapter remains one of the best thresholds of our association, led by Alhaji Dr. Wasiu Adumadeyin, President Emeritus, and Alhaji Nurudeen-Owo, Chairman Lagos Island NAPPS, continue to grow.
The Chairman,  NAPPS Lagos Island, Alhaji Abdul-Jalil Nurudeen Owo, said the event is earmarked to induct members of NAPPS and honour Mrs. Folashade Adegbenro, Mama Diamond, as life matron of this association based on her contribution right from the inception of this noble profession and association. It’s also an opportunity for us to enjoy ourselves as the year is coming to an end. It’s a celebration of many in one, praising and thanking Almighty God for the success of the event.
Nurudeen-Owo said the launch of NAPPS bus donation realised and eased the movement of our executive members. The challenge with NAPPS in Lagos Island is lack of space. There is not enough space for school facilities to acquire one quarter of land on the Island, equivalent to acquiring 10 hectares of land elsewhere; with this, still overcome and move on.
The emeritus president, Dr. Wasiu Adumadeyin, life patron of NAPPS Lagos Island, disclosed that the programme is the first ever for NAPPS Lagos Island, and it was a well-planned event, a banquet and investiture with the inauguration of life matron, Mrs. Folashade Adegbenro (Mama Diamond), for her selfless service and contributions to the educational development in private schools in Lagos Island, and inducted some new members who decided to join our folds.
“We are increasing in size and quality as we have witnessed merriment that was top-notch with local delicacies and intercontinental dishes, wines, and live band music throughout the day.”
While Mrs. Folashade Adegbenro, Mama Diamond, expressed her immense gratitude for the honour, she promised her commitment to the educational development in Lagos State.
