How 4 Kidnappers Killed Victim & Dumped Corpse Inside Alpha Beach After Collecting Ransom

Police operatives from the Commissioner of Police Special Squad, led by SP Joel Ugowe, have arrested four suspected kidnappers who abducted a victim, collected ransom, killed and dumped his corpse inside Alpha Beach in Lekki area of Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspects were Edmond Julius, 34, Saturday Oke, 40, Abdullahi Umoru,30 and Ibrahim Gamboa, 37 and they were arrested after the Police tracked them.
According to the Police, the 42- year old victim, Oluwaseyi Fowler, was brutally murdered by the three suspects who snatched his Toyota Camry worth about N9m and sold it to Ibrahim Gambo.
However, after the dastardly act, the Police moved into action, tracked the Toyota Camry and arrested Gamboa, who it was in his possession, which led to the arrest of three other suspects and detained at the Command for interrogation.
After investigation, the Police found them culpable and charged before the Ogba Magistrate Court for conspiracy, murder, kidnapping and receiving of stolen vehicle under the Criminal law of the State.
The charges read:
COUNT I: “That you, Edmond Julius ‘m’, Saturday Oke ‘m’ Abdulllahi Umoru ‘m’, Ibrahim Gambo ‘m’ and others at large on 16th day of September 2024 at about 1630hrs at Alpha Beach, Lekki area of Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conspire amongst yourselves to commit felony to wit: Murder and thereby committed an offence Punishable under Section 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
COUNT II:”That you, Edmond Julius ‘m’, Saturday Oke ‘m’, Abdulllahi Umoru ‘m’, Ibrahim Gambo ‘m’ and others at large on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did unlawfully kill one Oluwaseyi Fowler ‘m’ aged 42yrears by klidnapping him and thereafter killing him and dumping his corpse at Alpha Beach Lekki Area of Lagos State and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 222 and Punishable under Section 223 of the Criminal Law, Ch. C17 Vol.3 Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
COUNT III:”That you, Edmond Julius ‘m’, Saturday Oke ‘m’, Abdulllahi Umoru ‘m’, Ibrahim Gambo ‘m’ and others at large on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did unlawfully capture and detained one Oluwaseyi Fowler ‘m’ age against his will as to prevent him from applying to court for his release or from revealing to any other source the place where he is imprisoned or in such a manner as to prevent any person entitled to have access to him from discovering the place where he is imprisoned and subsequently demanded ransom of One Hundred Thousand Naira (N100,000.00)-before his release and thereafter killed him and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 222 and Punishable under Section 223 of the Criminal Law, Ch. C17 Vol.3 Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
“That you, Edmond Julius ‘m’, Saturday Oke ‘m’; A, bdulllahi Umoru ‘m’, Ibrahim Gambo ‘m’ and others at large on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did conspire among yourselves and robbed one Oluwaseyi Fowler ‘m’ now (deceased) of his Toyota Camry with registration number MUS 15 HB valued Nine Million Naira (N9,000,000.00) and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 297 (1)(2)(a)(b) of the criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
COUNT V:”That you, Ibrahim Gambo ‘m’ on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did unlawfully receive one Toyota Camry car with registration number MUS 151 HB valued Nine Million Naira (N9,000,000.00) knowing fully to be stolen an thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 329 (1)(a)(b)(c) of the criminal law of Lagos State Nigeria 2015.”
The Court did not take their plea when they were arraigned after the prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice because of the seriousness of the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.Kusanu ordered the defendants to be remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for legal advice.
The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be ready, which will determine if the defendants will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
