Causalities are being recorded over the conduct of the members of the cabal in Umuchu town, Aguata Local Government area of Anambra State, who secretly gave 25 people chieftaincy titles after collecting the sum of N380,000 while the traditional ruler, Igwe Gody Ezechukwu, is yet to bury his wife, who passed on last year.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the Chairman of Nze and Ozo in Umuchu town, Ozo  Chinedu Ezeoha, a.k.a  Ijerenze, has resigned his membership of the Igwe Umuchu cabinet.
The President General of Umuchu town, Ozo Charles Ezenwabasili, is now facing impeachment threats over his involvement in the title awards scandal.
Ozo Ezenwabasili’s case worsened because he was one of the beneficiaries of the title awards against the constitution of IIURA, which stipulates that no PG of Umuchu town will be given chieftaincy title while in office.
The members of the Igwe Umuchu cabinet may also be dissolved as the indigenes are now rooting for the total reorganization of the Igwe’s cabinet said to have been hijacked by the members of the cabal.
P.M.EXPRESS exclusively gathered that Ozo Ijerenze was forced to resign following the altercation with some of the cabinet members, including Chief Fidel Ononuju, Ogene Umuchu, Chief Chris Ezeoguine, Ohamadike and others, who were said to be against the giving out of the awards in such an unprecedented suspicious manner.
Following the controversy trailing the Chieftaincy title, the Anambra State Government through the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs put an embargo and directed that no chieftaincy title should be awarded in Umuchu town.
The security reports were said not to be favourable over the purported chieftaincy titles. Ozo Ijerenze, Chief Matthew and Igwe cabinet member were summoned by the DSS over the matter. Yet the members of the cabal secretly issued out certificates and asked the beneficiaries to celebrate in their different homes while they will crowned later after the burial of the Igwe’s wife.
The members of the cabal had perfected plans to give out the titles in anticipation for the contest for Igwe Umuchu position if anything happens to the present Igwe Umuchu, whose wife passed on and her corpse is still in the mortuary and slated for burial in February, 2025.
While the Igwe Umuchu, Gody Ezechukwu, is preparing for her burial,  some set of people led by Ozo Ijerenze said to be eying the Igweship, collected the paltry sum for the chieftaincy titles.
However, the plot got exposed by Hon. Akwaeke, who first hinted of the clandestine move to give over 25 recipients the various chieftaincy titles after collecting the money.
Some of the Indigenes had thought that it will not be possible because the Igwe’s wife passed on and had not been buried. But later, it became clear that the members of the cabal were adamant and had decided to dole out the titles unprecedented in the history of Umuchu traditional title giving.
The President General, Ozo Charles Ezenwabasili, made public statements and claimed that the beneficiaries have been confirmed unknown to the people. He confirmed himself as one of the beneficiaries while still serving as PG against the Constitution of Umuchu town, which has landed him in trouble and may likely be removed.
