Soludo’s “Festive Message” And Fada Ebube Mounso’s Reckless “Verbal Attacks”

Indeed, governors have demanding schedules, and leading Anambra State is no easy task. However, Soludo has consistently demonstrated his passion for governing Ndi Anambra, and I am unsure how he finds the energy to continue this work. During this festive period, while Soludo was busy moving from one community to another, commissioning projects built by private individuals and communities in response to his model of community development, Fada Ebube Mounso, who should be collaborating with the government to address societal issues, was in the pulpit launching verbal attacks against Soludo and the security agencies.

In contrast, the recent comments made by Fada Ebube Mounso have sparked a considerable backlash from Ndi Anambra, including different activist groups that have issued a 14-day ultimatum for him to apologize to the governor. Many view his remarks as reckless and irresponsible, especially considering that he was part of the previous governments during which insecurity plagued the state for years, leading to nine local governments being overrun by criminals while he remained silent, but now liberated by Soludo. His assertion that Soludo’s government is failing to address the security issues inherited from the past is, therefore, a misleading statement that shouldn’t come from a place of worship.

Moving away from Fada Ebube Mounso’s reckless and irresponsible verbal attacks—attacks that I’m sure he will come to regret, as he often does—this festive season, Soludo has consistently reminded Ndi Anambra of the importance of collective security efforts. He emphasizes that both communities and private individuals must continue to provide intelligence support to the government, as securing the state is a shared responsibility.

However, families must take a leading role in this effort because the foundation of any society is built within the family unit. Parents need to ask about their children’s unexplainable sources of wealth. Additionally, communities and churches should refrain from celebrating individuals who have unexplained sources of income.
