Ojodu LCDA Kicks Off 2025 With Prayers, Thanksgiving And Staff Recognition As NULGE Honours Hon. Odunmbaku

Ojodu LCDA, Lagos State, began the year 2025 on a high note with a vibrant Prayer and Thanksgiving Service held at the Main Hall of the Council Secretariat.

The event, graced by the Executive Chairman, Hon. Segun Odunmbaku, staff members and religious leaders, marked a moment of reflection, gratitude and renewed commitment to excellence.

In his opening remarks, Hon. Segun Odunmbaku thanked the staff for their unwavering dedication, which he credited for the council’s remarkable achievements in 2024. He announced a 100% increase in staff welfare allowances and financial assistance alongside a continued monthly palliative support programme for all staff. To further appreciate their efforts, food items were distributed to all employees as part of the welfare initiatives.


Highlighting his efforts, the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Ojodu LCDA branch, presented an Award for Excellence in Staff Welfare to Hon. Odunmbaku. The union also declared him the “Most Staff-Friendly Chairman” of 2024, in recognition of his transformative leadership and staff-centric policies.

Council Manager, Engr Bunmi Akintoye, stated that “Ojodu LCDA has become a benchmark for excellence and harmony” while the Chairman, NULGE Ojodu Branch, Comrade Jaiye Bolaji described Ojodu LCDA as a “worker-friendly local government”.

The event, attended by members of the Executive and Legislative Arms, management staff, and NULGE leadership, set the tone for a successful year ahead.
