PBAT’s Masterstroke: A Bold Path To Nigeria’s  Transformation

Posted on February 10, 2025

PIUS ADE BABALEYE (PAB)

In the annals of Nigeria’s leadership, few have dared to challenge the status quo with the audacity and resolve of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (PBAT). His leadership has not only reshaped the nation’s economic and political landscape but has also silenced opposition voices that once threatened him with 2027. As the bold reforms take root, it is becoming increasingly clear that Nigeria is on an irreversible path to true economic development and prosperity.

*Daring Reforms No President Attempted Before*

For decades, Nigeria’s economy has been shackled by policies that prioritized temporary comfort over long-term prosperity. Subsidy removal, the floating and devaluation of the Naira, local government fiscal autonomy, and the newly introduced Reform Tax Bill—each of these is a significant step toward restructuring Nigeria into a fiscally responsible nation. These were reforms that no president before him dared to undertake. Yet, in one fell swoop, PBAT has shown the courage to do what must be done.

*A Journey Towards True Federalism*

With the enactment of local government fiscal autonomy, Nigeria is moving closer to genuine federalism. States and local governments will now have greater control over their resources, fostering regional economic growth and reducing over-reliance on Abuja. This is the foundation of true fiscal federalism—a vision long championed but never realized until now.

But wait for it—regional autonomy is on the horizon! Soon, we will see a great shift as more people begin to focus on their states rather than crowding Abuja and Lagos in search of opportunities. This decentralization will ensure that every region builds its economy based on its unique strengths, unlocking potentials long buried under the excessive concentration of power at the center.

*Nehemiah’s Spirit: Rebuilding Nigeria’s Broken Walls*

When God wants to deliver a nation and set her on the path of greatness, He sends a leader with the spirit and soul of Nehemiah—the biblical rebuilder of Jerusalem’s broken walls. President Tinubu has taken up this mantle, leading Nigeria through the painful yet necessary process of rebuilding. The road is not smooth; it comes with temporary pain (T-Pain), but with patience and perseverance, it will result in permanent gain (P-Gain).

*Patience and Perseverance: The Key to a Better Nigeria*

Great nations are not built overnight. The reforms currently taking shape require sacrifice and endurance, but they are necessary steps toward a prosperous future. Nigerians must trust the process and give these policies time to yield results. Change is never easy, but with determination and strategic execution, the vision of a better Nigeria will be realized.

PBAT is fixing Nigeria, not with empty promises but with concrete, transformational policies. His masterstroke in leadership is laying the foundation for a new Nigeria—one that is self-sufficient, economically vibrant, and truly federal. Let us remain patient and trust in his leadership. The journey may be tough, but the destination will be worth it.
