Mamora, Justice Oguntade, 44 Others Make Buhari’s Ambassadorial List

Lagos politician Senator Olorunnibe Mamora, Retired Justice George Adesola Oguntade and Ms. Pauline Tallen are among the names of 46 non-career nominees President Muhammadu Buhari sent to the senate to be confirmed as ambassadors.

Senate President Bukola Saraki read out the names on the senate floor Thursday during the plenary session.

Senator Mamora and Rtd. Justice Oguntade are among the three nominees representing Lagos. Renowned educationist Dr. Mrs. Modupe Irele completes the trio.

Mamora, a former speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, was also a member of the Senate. He is a close ally of ex-Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Ms. Tallen is a former Plateau State deputy governor.

Among the nominees who are non-career are Musa Ibeto who was formerly nominated minister before his nomination was withdrawn in 2015. Ibeto is a former Niger State deputy governor.

President Buhari had earlier on 9 June sent a list of 47 new career ambassadors to the Senate for confirmation.
