Setting The Record Straight: Addressing Hypocritical Criticism Of Gov Soludo’s Leadership

My attention has recently been drawn to a photograph taken during the 2021 Anambra Governorship campaign, in which Fada Ebube Muonso was seen praying for Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, who was the flag bearer of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
In light of the events surrounding Governor Soludo’s eventual victory and the ongoing political developments in the state, the following observations merit consideration:
1. At the time, Governor Soludo’s favorite song was “Ife Chukwu Delu odego ya, ife odelu ga eme,” which translates to “what is written is written.” Reiterating his strong faith that it is only the will of God that shall come to pass.
2. Fada Ebube Muonso did not pray exclusively for Governor Soludo. He also prayed for other candidates, including Senator Andy Uba, Chief Val Ozigbo, and other party’s gubernatorial contenders.
3. As is customary for all clergymen and religious leaders, Fada Ebube Muonso, along with other men of faith, is bound by his duty to pray for all individuals aspiring to leadership positions. However, it is ultimately God who determines the outcome of such elections.
4. When Fada Ebube Muonso declared, “The incoming Governor of Anambra State is within this adoration ground,” he was referring to all candidates present at the time—Val Ozigbo, Senator Andy Uba, Governor Soludo, and others—who were all physically present in the adoration ground.
5. It is also noteworthy that Fada Ebube Muonso’s brother, who was granted an APGA ticket and subsequently won the Anambra State House of Assembly election under the APGA banner, later defected to the APC after being persuaded by the APC governorship campaign team with some monetary inducements.
In light of these clarifications, the baseless allegation that Fada Ebube Muonso’s prayer directly made Governor Soludo the victor is categorically false and should be dismissed as nothing more than a misleading and unfounded narrative.
