Lady, 35, Arraigned For Biting Rival’s Breast During Public Brawl

A 35-year old lady, Kanife Chidera, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly inflicting injury on her rival, Echefonu Anamalu, by stoning and biting her breast during a public brawl.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 4th February, 2025, at Rafiu Crescent Street, Mafoluku Oshodi,Lagos where they reside.
According to the Police, the suspect had a disagreement with the victim over an undisclosed matter, which led to exchange of words and later degenerated into a fight. In the process, the suspect used a stone to hit the victim’s forehead and equally bite her left breast. The suspect further damaged her door net with a cutlass. The victim was said to have bled profusely and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
The matter was reported to the Police at Makinde Division. The Police arrested the suspect and charged her before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.
The charges read:
“That you, Kanife Chidera ‘f’, on the 4th day of February 2025, at about 20:30hrs, at Rafiu Crescent Street, Mafoluku Oshodi in the Ikeja Magisterial District, did assault one Echefonu Anamalu ‘m’ by using stone to hit her on the forehead, which caused her bodily harm and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 173 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
COUNT II:”That you, Kanife Chidera ‘f on the same date, time and place, in the aformentioned Magisterial District, did assualt one Echezonu Favour ‘f’ by giving her a bite on the left breast, which caused her bodily harm and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 173 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
COUNT III:”That you, Kanife Chidera ‘f on the same date, time and place, in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did willfully damage door net valued at Thirty Thousand Naira 30,000.00 by using cutlass to tear it, property of one Echozonu Anamalu ‘m’ and thereby commited an offence punishable under Section 350 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
However, she pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Emetuche Ukamaka, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Chief Magistrate, Mrs. O. Kusanu, granted her bail will two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
